Last year I asked for suggestions on Halloween themed pics and had great results (I ended up drawing four).

I'm opening up the suggestion box again this year so drop by and be part of the creative process again.

There are so many great shows out right now and just as importantly, they are all diverse and different.

Animation-wise, in the east, Log Horizon has been freakin' mind-blowing, incredibly meta in a good way and hits all the right spots for any tabletop roleplayer. Second season of Chuunibyou Demo and Seitokai Yakuindomo has been fantastic. One of the more pleasant surpise for me this season has been Sekai Seifuku – Bouryaku no Zvezda; it's like a deconstruction of the super sentai genre and in an incredibly optimistic viewpoint.

Western animation-wise, Rick and Morty has been the dark horse for me; I'm a Dan Harman fan (love his podcast too) but his collab with Justin Roiland brings about a show that can do low brow jokes just as well as high concept scifi stories. This season of Bob's Burgers has been fantastically as usual. Adventure Time has captured that old spark of awesomeness and Regular Show has been zany as usual.

In TV land, Brooklyn Nine Nine is the surprise show for me. I really don't watch that much TV anymore but I dig Andy Samberg's work so I gave it a try; I'm glad I did because Brooklyn Nine Nine has just the right amount of great characters and non-sarcastic comedy slant.

Oh yeah, Arrow has been a freakin beast of a show for me, it continues to surprise me how they've adapted the convoluted backstory of the Green Arrow (which is as complicated if not more than Batman's) and made so much sense out of it. Arrow is simply an awesome show. Can't wait for Flash and Gotham.

So there you have it, this busy season of entertainment media and another reason why I'm behind in drawing all the projects I have planned ;0)

BTW check it out for the... um, 'deviant' version of the St Patrick theme pic ;)
Well, Golala changed owners and server, unfortunately my message board was a casualty. I can't even contact them since their help desk does not exist (their email doesn't even work).

I'm currently trying to find a more stable message board on the net (that would allow my more 'exotic' works, of course :)). Any help appreciated.
My old Ezboard got nuked when the server got hacked into so I'm moving over to Golala: www.golala.com/members/turk128
I finally get back to coloring in Photoshop. It took me just as long as when I first did PS, i.e. too freakin' long.

I got my hands on a 'how to' book that was very helpful especially when it comes to brushes. I made a fire ember and webbing custom brush (really nifty stuff). Check out the book if you're interested: www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASI…

I was also recently informed that the latest Painter (#9) is heads and shoulders better than it's predecessors and even better for painting/coloring pictures than Photoshop. I think I'm gonna try it out myself since I hear the brushes for Painter is just phenomenon.
Guess what everybidy? I finally started another site for my more--- um, extreme pics. This time around, I'm trying something new; instead of a straight up site and gallery, I'm going with a forum format with links to pics.

Caution, it's pretty much hardcore subjects/rating. Drop by and check out my EZboard forum:

Read or Die is one of my favorite animes and I was stoked when I heard Cartoon Network was going to air it on cable. I'm normally not the type of anime fan who bitches about dubbing and subtitles (heck, I really don't care... I grew up watching poorly dubbed kungfu flics and enjoyed them immensely) but I can now understand why someone fans would bitch about dubbing:

Read or Die was one of the worst dubbing job I ever saw (and I’ve seen plenty, see above). It’s as if they hired freshman theatre majors to do the voice work, then told them convey as much cheese as they could through their voice. All the accents were off by miles and it’s as if they watched R.O.D. with the mute button on and just read the transcript. Quiet characters they made loud, loud characters they made blaring, and mysterious characters they made trivial.

I can really go on forever (or at least for a couple more paragraphs… at least one of which would be dedicated to my fanboy love of Yomiko Readman), but I’ll just conclude here: R.O.D. dubbed blows.
Note to self: Get new monkey to cleanup after other monkey.

Another note to self: ever since watching Planet of the Apes, monkey is giving me weird looks... get some monkey repellant ASAP.
Hmmm... Deviantart interface is not as simple as it looks.

Note to self: hire trained monkey, probably get better results.
